Glaser, John William "Jack", passed away on January 19th from complications from congestive heart failure and liver disease. He was a loving and adored husband, father and grandfather, and a tireless champion of justice.
He was born in 1933, the second of three children of Clarence and Margaret Glaser. He was educated in Jesuit schools and was ordained as a Jesuit priest. His doctoral degree is in Moral Theology. He married Mary Ellen Brodhead in 1972 in Detroit, Michigan. In 1986, Jack and Mary Ellen moved their family from Michigan to Santa Ana, where he began his 25 years working in leadership at the St. Joseph Health System. He was an Executive Vice President for Theology and Ethics and his contributions to healthcare ethics and the mission were prized. He served on the boards of Share Our Selves and The Wooden Floor. He was a gifted photographer and a lover of the arts. His gentleness, wisdom, and extraordinarily beautiful heart touched many lives. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Glaser; his sister, Lois Stolz; his son, Brian Glaser; his daughter, Margaret Terán; his daughter-in-law, Melanie Ríos Glaser; his son-in-law, Diego Terán; and his grandchildren, Andoe Glaser, Diego Andrés Terán, John Glaser, Claire Terán and Sabine Terán. Beloved extended family and friends also survive him.

Schenck, Andrea Rosemary Murphy Moar August 11, 1956 - January 13, 2012 Died by accidental drowning in Cancun, Mexico while on vacation with her husband. Professional actor (stage name Andrea Moar) on television (ABC-TV "All My Children," where she played the role of Carrie that consistently generated high "Q ratings"; the series "Rituals"; guest appearance on the "Molten Steele" episode of the "Remington Steele" series). She played the role of "fast blond in the sporty barbeque grill" in the award winning (for comedy) commercial for Kraft Kansas City Barbeque Sauce; appeared in an American Express commercial, and played roles in nearly 60 plays. Andrea was a unique, enthusiastic, passionate, caring person and devoted, loyal friend with a generous spirit and a vibrant, engaging personality. She had a zest for life and loved animals. She kept reminding people that "life is not a dress rehearsal!" She was an avid tennis player who won the New Jersey HS state individual championship. She was a gifted amateur photo-grapher and was keenly interested in jewelry and gemology. She coauthored a novel with her brother, "The Griffon Trilogy: Part I" that was released in July 2001 (Pub-Booklocker). Born in Dayton, Ohio, she was raised in Princeton, New Jersey, and graduated from Princeton High School and Davidson College in North Carolina. Married in 2005 to Carlos H. Schenck, M.D. of the Minnesota Regional Sleep Disorders Center in Minneapolis and Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Minnesota. Andrea, daughter of the late Paul Daniel Murphy, Jr, M.D., a psychiatrist, is survived by her husband Carlos, her mother Dimitria Sarhanis Murphy, former ballet dancer of the Metropolitan Opera in New York City; her sister Sheila Murphy Moar and husband James Moar, residing in St. Paul, MN, and their children Amanda and Zachary; her brother Douglas Paul Murphy, M.D. (Assoc. Prof. of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Virginia Commonwealth University), residing in Ivy, VA and wife Elaine, and children Kali and Max. Andrea was a direct descendant of Captain James Lawrence, who coined the famous naval battle cry during the War of 1812, "Don't give up the ship!" Andrea will be dearly missed by many people around the country and the world. Larry Bye was born in San Diego on April 13, 1941 and unexpectedly departed on January 6, 2012. He is survived by his wife Pattie, his mother Florence and his four children, Anita, Andrew, Lisa and Jeff, and four grandchildren, Brice, Lucas, Samanta and Andrea. A private family service was held.

Surrounded by her loving family, Barbara Silk Magaddino, a resident of Santa Ana, passed away peacefully at home on January 20, 2012. She was 62 years old and died after a five year battle with colon cancer, fought with courage, grace and faith.
Barbara was born on February 22, 1949 to Edmund and Sarah Silk in New York City. Soon after her birth, the family moved to Illinois and later settled in Lynchburg, Virginia. Barbara attended parochial schools in Lynchburg and graduated from Virginia Tech in 1971. It was at Virginia Tech that she met her future husband Joe and they were married in 1972. In 1973, they relocated to California when Joe joined the faculty at California State University, Long Beach. They moved to Santa Ana in 1977 and have four children.
Barbara was employed by the City of Orange as a risk management analyst, retiring in 2009. Barbara took pride in the quality of her work and enjoyed working with the city’s staff, third party administrators as well as residents of Orange. Many of these relationships developed into lasting friendships.
Barbara will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Joseph, their children: Peter (Nicole) of Belmont, CA, Katharine (Christopher) Reese of Fullerton, CA, Sarah (Andrew) Kuhlman of Santa Ana, CA, and Michael of Pleasant Hill, CA; her sister, Joan Tichacek of Lynchburg, VA; her brother, Richard Silk of Forest, VA; granddaughter Reagan Reese, nieces, a nephew as well as many cherished friends.
Barbara and her family greatly appreciated the care she received from her physicians Drs. Huang, Openshaw, and Wagman and their respective staff. The family acknowledges the loving care that she received from the nurses and staff of Hospice Care of the West.
Barbara was a former model in the Circle of Life program sponsored by the Saint Joseph’s Hospital Foundation. She enjoyed the experience, most especially meeting other models who were cancer survivors. Catherine passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 14, 2012, losing her two-year battle with multiple myeloma. At the time of her death, she was surrounded by her family at her home.
Catherine was born on September 3, 1933 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Josephine and Harry Stewart. She married Richard E. Woznichak in February of 1951 and had 6 children. Following a job transfer for Richard, they moved their family to Placentia, California in 1968.
Cathy or Kay, as she was known by her family and friends, put her love of family first. She loved to cook and bake, enjoyed gardening and was a talented piano player in her younger years. Cathy stayed home to raise her family for many years, but later had a successful career in real estate in North Orange County.
Catherine is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Richard, her six children, Rick, Rod, Mark, Cathy Spencer, Gerry, and Terri Anderson, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She will be remembered for being a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 23, 2012 at Pope John Paul II Polish Center in Yorba Linda with a graveside service to follow at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Orange.
Rene' was born August 5, 1964 in La Mesa, California and was a life long resident of San Diego. She passed away January 12, 2012 due to complications of liver failure. She was a 1982 graduate of Mt. Carmel High School and a graduate of San Diego State University in 1986 earning her B.S. Degree in Accounting. Bonham Bros. & Stewart Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family.
Rene’ worked in the accounting field and most recently was the treasurer of Grace Community Church in Ramona, and treasurer of Mt. Woodson P.T.A.
Rene’ attended Grace Community Church and was a faithful Christian who loved reading her Bible and being involved in Bible studies and Church Home Groups. She was also a Sunday School teacher of pre-teen youth.
Rene’ leaves behind her devoted Husband Tim, daughter MacKenzie, parents Gerrie & Mary Ann Griffin, brother Mark Griffin (Michela), sister Pam Bulfinch (Phil), 6 nieces, 4 nephews, Uncles, Aunts and many cousins.
Memorial services for Rene’ will be held January 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Community Church in Ramona. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Grace Community Church Children’s Ministry.
Marsters, Laurentz R. "Larry", passed away on January 11, 2012 at the age of 88. A native of Boston, Massachusetts, Larry had resided in Orange County for almost 50 years. Larry served with distinction in the United States Navy during WWII, and later earned BS and BBA degrees from the University of Oregon, and was a graduate of the School of Mortgage Banking. Larry worked over 54 years in real estate related industries, including Vice President - Union Bank as construction lender to Orange County developers; Vice President - Continental Illinois Properties, a NYSE real estate investment company; President/Owner - Executive Management Group, managing large apartment complexes throughout the western U.S.; and Owner/Broker - Help-U-Sell Smart Choice Realty for 24 years. Larry also enjoyed being active in the local community, and he served on both the Tustin Planning Commission and Tustin City Council, as well as being a member of the American Legion Newport Harbor Post 291 and Newport Harbor Elks Lodge 1767. Larry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marjorie, and his sons, Gary, Erik and Randy (Amy). A memorial service will celebrate Larry's life on Sunday, January 22 at 1 p.m. at Saddleback Chapel Mortuary in Tustin.

67, Born December 9, 1944 in Flint, Michigan to Julia E. and Hubert L. Cushman, passed away on January 5, 2012. She married Donald Edward Perkins on November 24th 1962 at Blessed Sacrament Church, Burton, Ml. In 1964 she moved to California where she resided for the past 48 years. Bonnie worked for the California Water Department and The Telephone Company until her first child was born; then she became a fill time mother. As she raised her children, she ran her own day care service. She was involved with St. Cecilia Church, Tustin PTA, and her children's Little League Baseball and Bobby Sox Softball teams as team mom. She loved to bowl, play golf and travel the USA. She also traveled to England, Scotland, Ireland, Italy, Mexico and Holland. She is survived by her husband, Donald Perkins; her children, Paul Eric (Megan) Perkins, Danielle Marie Perkins (Michael) Chang, Trina Anne Perkins, Teresa Renee Perkins (fiancé Walter Escobar), Brad Aaron Perkins; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Carver, Aaron Keith March 1, 1923 - December 21, 2011 -
Resident of San Juan Capistrano, CA.
Aaron Keith was born and raised near Cheney, Kansas, and graduated from North High School in Wichita. He attended Washington University School of Music in St. Louis, and was an accomplished tenor and musician performing on local radio stations and the St. Louis Municipal Opera. Keith later sang on Broadway in New York, Las Vegas, and performed on radio and television in St. Lous and Hollywood, CA.
Army First Lieutenant Aaron Keith Carver served in North Africa, India, The Middle East, Australia and in the Pacific in World War II, from 1943 to 1946. He met his wife Mayme while stationed in the Philippine Islands. They later married and settled in Southern California, where Keith entertained in many local nightclubs and wrote music. Most Long Beach neighbors will remember Keith performing in Belmont Shore, Downtown Long Beach on the local radio stations. He also performed on KNBC television as well as many local radio stations. Keith and Mayme Carver raised three children, Michael, Kaaron and Casey. Keith later became a manager of many Ruben's and Coco's Restaurants in southern California. He later moved to the K-Mart Corporation where Keith retired at age 73 after losing his wife to cancer 18 years before his death. Keith was an avid snow skier, hiker, surfer and tent camper where he spent his most precious times with his loving wife.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial funeral service on Friday, January 13, at 11:00 am at Fairhaven Memorial Services, 27856 Center Drive, Mission Viejo, CA 92692.
A lunch will be served after the service. A military burial service will be performed on Monday, January 16, 2012 at noon at the Riverside National Cemetery.

Brad Henry Becker, 65, of Santa Ana California, passed away on Friday December 30th 2011 surrounded by his children. He was born March 24, 1946 in Mauston, Wisconsin, the son of late Isabel Nerud and John Becker. He was the older of two boys. He graduated from law school at UCLA School of Law and had an undergraduate degree from California State University Long Beach. He was admitted to The State Bar of California in 1973. Brad married Suzanne Melton March 23, 1983 in Newport Beach, California. They later divorced but continued to raise their three children. He was a personal injury Attorney and for many years had his own office space in Tustin, California. In his later years he operated from his penthouse/castle and later from his home in the “middle of the street.” He grew up playing golf and tennis and later taught his children how to play. He became an amazing pianist and was part of a band, Becker’s Lonely Hearts Club. He enjoyed hunting and being a member of the Wild Game Feed with his son. He was a wonderful cook and made many family meals. He volunteered for the Rotary Foundation for many years and was named Street Captain for his services with the Orange International Street Fair. He was a friend to all, and kept his door open for any who needed a place to stay. He is survived by his son Jeff Becker of Huntington Beach, CA; daughter Katey Becker of Tustin, CA; daughter Leah Becker and son-in-law James Grant of Portland, OR; brother David Becker and sister-in-law Rebecca ogers of Santa Rosa, CA. The celebration of his life will take place at 11am on Saturday January 14, 2012 at Pancho’s Mexican Restaurant located at 131 E. Collins Ave in Orange, CA.
